Afsharid Period

Afsharid Garments: A Reflection of Resilience

After the radiant splendor of the Safavids , the Afsharid era ushered in a time of stark transformation. Garments, like the era itself, grew simpler, battle worn, and imbued with the weight of turbulent times. The dazzling opulence of the court faded, replaced by attire that spoke not of luxury but of endurance and power. Light armor became the mantle of warriors, while the common people abandoned richly patterned velvets for fabrics sturdy enough to withstand arduous journeys and the trials of war.

Women still draped themselves in delicate silks, yet the vibrant colors and intricate motifs of the past yielded to a noble simplicity. In this era, clothing was no longer merely an expression of artistry it had become a silent testament to resilience, a fabric that concealed within its folds the fate of a nation standing at the crossroads of history.
